For a Clean & Sparkling Kitchen:

To get a sparkling white sink, place paper towels across the bottom of the sink and saturate them with bleach for 30 minutes then rinse.

To clear a plugged sink, pour half a cup of baking soda and one cup of vinegar down the
drain. Wait for one hour and pour boiling water down the drain.

For extra-shiny, streak free glasses, add a little vinegar or borax to the final rinse water.

If your dishwasher drains through your garbage disposal, switch it on when the hot soapy
water is running through so it gets a good cleaning.

Cleaning Kitchen Countertops: Use a mild dishwashing liquid for plastic lamination: and
rinse well afterwards to prevent residue from getting on food.

To get rid of Refrigerator odors: After cleaning the refrigerator add a dash of lemon extract to the rinse water for a fresh scent.

For your Windows:

For streak free windows and an absolutely great shine, use the following recipe: 1/2 cup
ammonia, 1/2 cup white vinegar, 2 tablespoons cornstarch, and 1 bucket of warm water.

Use newspapers in place of paper towels to wash windows. Newspapers produce less lint and more shine.

To remove spots on window sills, wipe with alcohol.

When cleaning windows, use a cotton swab dampened with window cleaner to reach into the corners of the windows.

To clean Venetian blinds, soak them in your bathtub with 2 cups of white vinegar.

To make cleaning windowsills easy, coat them with wax; it protects the paint and dirt wipes off quickly.

For your Wooden Furniture:

Color rings left on tables by cups and glasses can be removed by slightly roughing the
surface with an abrasive pad or paper and then rubbing it with cigarette ashes mixed with

cooking oil.

Have furniture deluxed (buffed and polished) by a professional once or twice a year.

When serving plates and dishes that are hot, use a tablecloth.

Position furniture so that it isn't exposed to direct sunlight. Sun dries out wood.

For your Floors & Carpets:

For shiny wooden Floors, use a solution of 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar in 1 gallon of warm water. Use a soft cloth with most of the moisture squeezed out. Get on your hands and knees and wipe the floor without getting it wet. Then buff with a soft dry cloth to bring out the luster.

To remove tar from vinyl floors, rub some peanut butter on the spot. The peanut butter will
dissolve the tar.

To remove candle wax from carpet, place a paper towel over the wax and gently go over it with your iron on low heat. As the wax melts, it will be absorbed by the paper towel.

To clean any stain out of carpets, here's a solution that works well and you don't have to rinse! The recipe is: 1/4 cup liquid Wisk laundry detergent, 1/4 cup white distilled vinegar, and 1 qt. hot tap water. Dip a sponge into the solution, squeeze out excess water, apply to stain, and rub in a circular motion. Make sure you have enough solution in the carpet. Blot dry.

To remove greasy stains from your carpet, apply a nonflammable dry-cleaning agent to the
spot with a white towel. Work from the edges toward the center but do not scrub. Dab gently until the spot comes clean. Always pretest any cleaning agent on an inconspicuous part of the carpet and let it dry before continuing.

To remove pet urine from the carpet, combine 1/2 cup of peroxide with 1 tablespoon of
ammonia. Then using a white cloth, dab the mixture lightly on the stain until it is gone. Finally, cover the area with plastic wrap until it is dry

For a Fresh & Clean Bathroom:

Remove greasy stains: apply a nonflammable dry-cleaning agent to the spot with a white
towel. Work from the edges toward the center. Don't scrub. Dab gently until the spot comes
clean. Always pretest any cleaning agent on an inconspicuous part of the carpet and let it dry before continuing.

To avoid bathtub rings, don't use oily bath preparations. Use a water softener if you live in a
hard-water area. Rinse the tub immediately after bathing.

If you have a stubborn stain in your bathtub, wet the surface, sprinkle with cream of tartar, and rub with the cut surface of a lemon.

Clean with a disinfectant to kill germs. Everything in the bathroom except the mirror can be
cleaned this way in just 3 or 4 minutes a day.

To clean a shower curtain liner, wash it in the clothes washer and then put it in the dryer. It
comes out clean and wrinkle free!

Remove soap and hard water buildup on shower tile with tile cleaner. Then apply a good
paste wax and buff with a dry cloth to deter future water spots.

For immediate air freshener in the bath, place a fabric softener sheet in the wastepaper
basket or add a dab of fragrance on a light bulb. When the light is on, the heat releases the aroma.
